Celebrating our Skills for Hospitality partnership with Crieff High School 👏

We were delighted to deliver a series of engagement sessions for Skills for Hospitality pupils at Crieff High School in recent months.

Several members of our team visited the school to lead sessions covering real hospitality skills - from interview and CV tips, to service styles and customer care, kitchen budgeting, and the importance of allergen awareness.

Alongside these talks, we welcomed pupils to Crieff Hydro for hands on workshops, including a mocktail masterclass, a practical cooking session, and supporting them as they set up for their own Christmas dance. It’s been fantastic to see their confidence and curiosity grow with each activity.

A huge well done to the pupils for getting stuck in, and thank you to the teachers and our Crieff Hydro team for making these experiences possible. And a special thank you to Georgia, our Talent Attraction Manager, for organising the full programme.

We recently hosted our very first internal cocktail competition for the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels team, in partnership with Brugal 1888! 🍸

From seven hotels, it came down to four incredible finalists, who showcased their creativity and skills in a final showdown at Crieff Hydro. After an afternoon of bold ideas and beautiful serves, we crowned our Winter Champion 2025:

🏆 Liam Bodde (Ballachulish Hotel) with his winning cocktail Ephemeral Dominican, which will be featured in our menus across the company.

This was the second meeting to include the 14 new organisations from the Highland RFCA area to be awarded Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Awards in 2025. 🤝👏🤝

We were delighted to attend the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards Night last week at the Black Watch Museum in Perth, where we were officially presented with our Gold Award alongside other Highland region recipients.

It was an inspiring evening of shared stories from the service community, reminding us why supporting veterans, reservists, cadets and their families truly matters. We’re incredibly proud of this recognition and of our team who make it possible.

We were delighted to welcome Level 6 Hospitality and Events students from Fife College to Crieff Hydro Hotel last week for an insight into our history, operations, and what goes on behind the scenes at one of Scotland’s busiest resort hotels.

Our team enjoyed showing the students around the hotel and sharing the wide range of guest experiences and career opportunities within our industry. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm throughout the visit.

A huge thank you to Fife College and UHI Perth for including us in this collaborative learning experience - we look forward to welcoming more students in the future!

Yesterday, our Executive Head Chef at Crieff Hydro, Ryan Whitcut, had the pleasure of visiting Forth Valley College in Stirling to deliver a cooking demonstration for a group of budding chefs.

He guided the students through creating the five classic mother sauces and shared how these can be adapted to meet specific allergen requirements.

He also spoke about his role in running a multi-venue resort kitchen and leading a large team - from menu development and costings to SOPs and allergen processes.

It was fantastic to see the students so engaged and passionate about their craft. Supporting their wider learning and helping shape the next generation of chefs is something we’re proud to be part of.

A big thank you to Forth Valley College for welcoming us - we look forward to more opportunities to collaborate!
