With only 1 day to go until the new series of airs on the BBC iPlayer we couldn't keep it secret any longer - Cromarty is where it all begins! 🗺️📹
We were so incredibly excited to be chosen as the "hopping off" point for the start of the Series 6 adventure when filming commenced last year, and frankly we're amazed we've managed to keep it under our hats this long! All 5 pairs of contestants had to choose how to make a quick get away from Cromarty to start their globe spanning adventure of a lifetime and with options ranging from hitch-hiking to a speedy 9.5m RIB vessel, it's anyone's guess who'll head in the right direction on the most budget-friendly means. We can't wait to watch, don't miss the action in Cromarty from the very start.

We love this Official Guide to Cromarty published around 50 years ago, promising a "Carefree Holiday"! Inside are black and white images of the town, and some early marketing: "By virtue of it's geographical situation, it's extremely low rainfall, and it's modern water and drainage systems, Cromarty is one of the most bracing and health-giving holiday resorts in Scotland, an ideal spot set amid unrivalled scenery." Who knew modern water and drainage systems were so praised!

Beautifully situated campsite, we loved the views out over the water and enjoyed watching the birds at low tide. The bathrooms were warm (in January!) and there was lots of hot water. We loved it!

More photo's from our 2nd Birthday party which we so enjoyed. We had lots of compliments about the poster trail around the site and we'd love to do something like this again. What do you think? What sort of things would you like to see at the campsite, temporary or otherwise?
