‼️🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨‼️
A warning to potential guests of a scam website…
We’ve had two guests recently who booked through “super dot com” but we have no record of these bookings as we have no affiliation with this company.
Unfortunately both guests paid when booking so now they have to try and claim their money back.
And of course, both times, the nightly rate offered was less than half of our actual rate… (classic case of if it looks too good to be true then it usually is…)
On the first occasion, the guest managed to book a night on which we weren’t even open…
You are always best to book directly with us - or any other small independent hotel - for three reasons;
1. To avoid scams like this
2. It’s usually cheaper to - in our case, the fabulous Royal’s breakfast is included if you book direct. This is because small independent hotels are charged commission for bookings with third parties - for example, Booking.con charge us over 20% - so it means you’re supporting a small independent business rather than a multinational corporation…
3. Personal service with a real person - if there’s a problem, it’s (generally!) easier to deal with a small independent business rather than a large faceless organisation…
I don’t want to give the scam website any more traction so I’ve not named them exactly but they’re the ones in the first photo. The second photo is our own website which is the best way to book.
Scammers are so clever now, it looks realistic and they have photos and our correct address.
And if anyone knows who I should report them to then please let me know!
