Mill House Bed and Breakfast

Mill House Bed and Breakfast An elegant former miller's home, lovingly restored and transformed into an 8 bedroom guest house. Delicious breakfasts and a friendly welcome awaits.

Mill House is ideally situated in the centre of Wells, nestled away amongst mature horse chestnut trees and sitting within its own private grounds. Seeped in history, Mill House once accompanied an enormous windmill. The miller and his family built their empire here, and lived within the fine building. Sadly during the war, the mill itself was removed to avoid it being targeted by German bombers,

however the house proudly remains and has been lovingly converted in to an 8 bedroom guest house. All of our rooms are large, with en suite facilities. Many have baths as well as showers. Several of the rooms benefit from fridges. All of the double and king rooms are south facing, and overlook the tranquil garden. We pride ourselves on delivering a hearty and delicious breakfast, using locally sourced ingredients. Mill house is an ideal spot for walkers and birdwatchers. We even have a resident tawny owl! Our garden and spacious rooms make for great family getaways also.

We've been busy tidying up the garden and part of that meant inviting Ross the tree surgeon to come and spruce up the trees, give the trees general hair cuts and cut down a couple of the big trees along the parking bays. It looks so much better now!

It is such a beautiful day in Wells. There are so many kids crabbing on the quay. Imagine those poor old crabs - in and out like yoyos - day in, day out! I sometimes wonder if they play a game called 'peopling'? A competition to see how many people they can make scream, how many times they can get caught and who gets to eat the most fish heads and lumps of bacon!

There's a stunning menu for Valentine's night just gone up on the Globe Inn's website, it looks really scrumptious!
