The perfect day for rock pooling. 🦀🐚

A beautiful day here at West Runton Beach, one of our favourite family-friendly beaches on the North Norfolk coast.

At low tide, the famous chalk reef is exposed, creating countless shallow rock pools to explore. Children love searching for crabs, shells and other sea creatures, while keen fossil hunters can often find ancient treasures washed up along the shore.

You'll also find:

What an amazing find! Just 15 minutes from Cromer - Baconsthorpe Castle.

Ancient ruins to wander through, turrets to peek into, wide open spaces to run around, and a beautiful moat and mere surrounding the castle. It's the perfect place to spend an hour or two exploring, imagining life in medieval Norfolk and letting little adventurers burn off some energy.

Parking is just £2, making it a great value family outing too.

Definitely one to add to your North Norfolk bucket list.

This is one of our favourite family walks!

Setting off from Cromer, grab yourself a coffee from North Sea Coffee Co, walk past the beach huts and along the beach all the way to Overstand.

At the top of the ramp grab yourself a drink/ lunch from the Cliff Top View as you take a breath. Now refuelled, head along the Norfolk Coastal Path past the Royal Cromer Golf Club course and Lighthouse, then down through Warren Wood and back into Cromer town.

To reward yourself why not head to The Red Lion pub in Cromer for a delicious meal.

With tummies full, head back to Coast House for a soak in the hot tub or curl up in front of the fire on colder days.
