☕ UPDATE: Minette has extended her time with us and will be on site tomorrow morning (Sunday) from 8 -10am and will also be offering bacon rolls!!!🥓

Morning BunkFesters! If you are setting yourself up for the exciting day ahead or recovering from the night before 🤪 you might want to start the day with a freshly brewed coffee. The lovely Minette with her Cafe2U coffee van will be on site from 8am - 9am this Saturday and Sunday to boost your caffeine levels. You can find her near to the facilities block. We have a few money off vouchers in reception ☕

There is so much to celebrate this weekend - end of exams, Summer Solstice, Father's Day, amazing weather and of course Wallingford Carnival!

See below for the full details/itinerary for tomorrow. Lots of fun in the Kinecroft from 10am with the procession starting at 1pm, making it's way through the town and finishing at the Kinecroft.

This Sunday 10th May is the Wallingford Vehicle Rally & Parade🚗🚕🚙

Watch them parade through the market place and then head over to the Kinecroft to get a closer look at the vehicles! Entry is free, however donations are encouraged as all proceeds go towards local charities and community groups 🫶🏻

We are officially Greene King Pub of the Year… yes, THE best pub across the whole company!!

Now… the picture is a bit naff 😂 but trust me, I’ll be posting about this for the rest of the year so better pics will definitely follow… for now, zoom in and have a look at what we picked up tonight 👀🏆

Still slightly in shock, very proud, and honestly… this one means everything. This pub is what it is because of the people in it—our incredible team who graft day in, day out, and every single one of you who walks through the door and brings the place to life.

I couldn’t be there on the night, but Jacqui and Brian did us proud collecting the award—and we’re all absolutely buzzing.

This one belongs to every single person who’s stepped through our doors—past, present and future—because we’re here for the long haul ❤️

The Benson Weir Bridge is reopening! ✨
So for any of our guests who have enjoyed the lovely walk from Crowmarsh to Benson perhaps stopping for a drink or a bite at the Waterfront Waterfront Cafe but haven’t been able to recently, you’ll now be able to enjoy it again 🚶🏼‍♀️

Benson Weir Walkway Reopens This Week

Good news for walkers and Thames Path users – the footpath over Benson Weir will officially reopen at 9:00am on Wednesday 1 April, following confirmation from the Environment Agency.

The route has been closed since November 2022 while a major replacement project was carried out. This has involved the complete rebuild of the weir structure, alongside improvements to safety, navigation and biodiversity along this stretch of the River Thames.

The new walkway is now wider, making it easier for people to pass comfortably, and includes upgrades to the weir itself to better manage river flows and reduce damage from debris. A new fish and eel pass has also been installed to support local wildlife and improve river health.

This reopening restores an important link between Wallingford, Benson and Crowmarsh, and will be welcomed by many who use the Thames Path regularly.
