Enjoy a break on our 80 acre working Beef and Sheep Farm, surrounded by beautiful countryside, just 4 miles off the M5 junction 28, ideally situated for exploring Exmoor and Dartmoor both are within a 20 mile radius and both north & south Devon coastlines. AC

COMMODATION - ORCHARD LODGE

Bedroom 1 double bed
Bedroom 2: king-size zip n link bed, which can be made into two single divan beds. Fully fitted kitchen - Microwave, 4 ring hob with full size oven and grill, Free standing Fridge/freezer, full size dishwasher, Washing machine, toaster & kettle, slow cooker. Open plan Lounge/ dining area - flat screen TV and DVD player, Sofa bed, full size dining room table (seats 6)
Bathroom – Spacious Electric shower, hand basin & WC
Electric heaters throughout the lodge. Sleeps 4 (+2 - sofa bed in lounge to accommodate 2 guests. Please note there is an additional charge of £10 per person per night for any guest using the sofa bed. Selection of books, games, jigsaws, DVDs and videos available to borrow

OUT BUILDING/UTILITY ROOM. We have a very useful adjacent lockable storage/ utility area, idea for storing your wellington boots, Bikes, beach things & Fishing gear. There is also a shower & WC within this area. OUTDOOR AREA
There is Seating all around the Lodge. Secure fenced garden, Fire Pit & BBQ. PARKING
Private parking beside the Lodge for up to 2 cars. FISHING
Fishing pond that is stocked with Silver fish, Tench, Rudd and Perch. You will be able to fish as many times as you like during the summer months at no extra cost. Pound Farm

✨ A special Pound Farm story ✨

Back in July, we welcomed some returning holiday guests who have been coming to Pound Farm since 2004! 🏡❤️

It’s amazing to think that they have been returning to stay with us for over 20 years, creating so many wonderful holiday memories along the way and have seen our holiday business grow over the years.

They also very kindly brought us a beautiful teapot and jug as a special gift. 🫖💐 Such a thoughtful gesture.

We feel very lucky to have such lovely returning guests and are so grateful that they continue to choose Pound Farm for their holidays. ❤️

🔥🚜 Tough times farming at the moment, it’s certainly not all plain sailing.

Yesterday Rob was baling hay for another farmer when a fire started under the bonnet of our tractor. It spread in no time, taking the baler, rows of hay, bales, and part of the field with it. A frightening situation and a stark reminder of just how dry and unforgiving conditions are right now and how quickly things can change.

A huge thank you to all the fellow farmers, villagers, and the fire brigade who came out to help control the spread of the fire.
And Everyone safe.

Farming is never easy, but this summer is really testing everyone. 😔🌾☀️

A lovely evening walk from Ellerhayes to Columbjohn Chapel and Bridge, part of the National Trust’s Killerton estate. 🌿🐾

Such a beautiful part of the countryside, especially on a lovely summer evening.

We also had a little nosey at the newish farm shop at springwater farm, which looked really good. A fantastic way to sell their own meat products and a great idea for showcasing local produce. 🥩🌱

And all this is only a 10-minute drive from us. Definitely somewhere we’d recommend for a lovely walk.

Yesterday afternoon and evening were spent vaccinating 250 of our sheep against the bluetongue virus.

Bluetongue is a viral disease that affects sheep, cattle, goats, deer, and camelids such as llamas and alpacas, causing them to become very poorly.

It is spread by biting midges rather than through direct contact between animals.

With bluetongue continuing to spread across the area, vaccinating our flock is an important step in helping to protect their health.

Harvest is well underway here on the farm! 🌾🚜

Today we’re combining our spring barley here in the South West. It’s certainly been a challenging growing season, with the heatwave and prolonged dry weather. As a result, yields are lower, but we’re grateful to have the crop safely harvested.
