Fabulous way to enjoy the Eskdale valley.

I’d recommend walking from Muncaster Castle to Ravenglass. About a mile and a half across a field and along a wooded track - and past the Roman bath house for an extra touch of history.

Looks like fun! And for a great cause. What’s not to like 🕺

These are the remains of Hardknott Fort, one of the three forts in the Lake District that was built under Hadrian's rule in the 2nd century AD to guard a key Roman road. Its remote fellside location allowed the garrison to survey Eskdale from up high.

Did you know that the landscapes of the Lake District National Park have been shaped by centuries of farming traditions? 🐑🌾

The patchwork of green fields, dry stone walls, and grazing sheep you see today are part of farming practices passed down through generations. This cultural heritage has helped create the iconic scenery that earned the Lake District its UNESCO World Heritage status.
