We have chosen not to advertise Big Bear Cabin on any major booking platform at this time as this is a new venture for us and we hope to grow through word of mouth and recommendations. Our hope is that Big Bear cabin will be a place where you will want return to again and again! Big Bear Cabin is situated in a hidden corner set in 2 acres of a 19th century cottage garden and boasts: a private driveway and generous parking bay/ fully enclosed private garden with picnic bench/ North American styled porch/ a snug double bedroom/ a separate dressing room/ WC shower room/ fully equipped galley kitchen (electric cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle & coffee maker, fridge/ freezer)/ open plan dining and living room (42” Freeview Smart TV, Blu-ray player)/ double patio doors leading out onto the decking area and uninterrupted spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

• A great location for outdoor activities: Explore great mountain biking trails, hike the Ayrshire and Galloway hills, explore the Ayrshire Coastline, go castle hunting or simply bird-watch under the sheltered porch
• Well-equipped for self-catering, with various areas to dine: North American style porch, a picnic table under the trees, and a sunny terrace, good local restaurants too
• Lots of nice, homely touches: fresh free range eggs from our own chickens, walking maps and board games
• Friendly and helpful local caretakers in case you get in a fix/have a query
• No WiFi to help escape the clutter of the modern age (though there is a Blu-ray player and a selection of DVD’s), and the mobile signal is good on most networks.
• The living space is generous and open-plan, and there's plenty storage for clothes/shoes/stuff
• Free cancellation on booking up to one week prior to your arrival date. No refund is guaranteed if cancelation takes place within the 7-day period before your arrival.
