Our accommodation consists of bunkhouses and camping fields. It is simple, clean, and comes with a warm welcome. CAMPING:
We have two camping fields. These are grassland meadows which border the banks of the river Seiont (that flows from Llyn Padarn down to the sea at Caernarfon Castle). The fields have a panoramic view of the mountains – from the Carneddau range, round to Elidir and Llanberis pas
s, Snowdon itself, and round to Moel Elio. We try to keep the land pretty wild, and managed primarily for biodiversity, so the pitches are kept cut and grazed and are surrounded by uncut grassland which, at certain times, is full of flowers. If you’re into wild swimming there is a large deep river pool, and there is some good wildlife to be seen. Early rising (pretty much dawn!!) is frequently rewarded by watching the otters fishing. We own fishing rights to our quarter-mile stretch of the river so you are welcome to bring your rods. Our space for camping is pretty much unlimited, so there is no need to book ahead, unless you are coming with a larger group. We have limited electric hook-ups (just two) for camper-vans, and you need to book these if required. The washroom facilities are simple but good quality. Two toilets and two showers in the same block about 100 metres from the campfields along the track. There is also an outdoor (but undercover) washing-up sink. BUNKHOUSES:
There is a ten-bed bunkhouse, situated between the camp-fields and the main building, and an eight bed bunkhouse in the ground floor of the main building. Both are serviced by the toilet/shower block, and the eight bed bunkhouse also has its own wc and sink. Both are equipped with electric heaters, kettles, microwaves and some dishes and cutlery. Both are simple sleeping rooms with bunkbeds. You are provided with fresh sheets, duvets and pillows. There is currently no Public House operating, as the main building is undergoing an upgrade, but this will hopefully be operating once more before the end of 2015.
