The Geminid Meteor Shower will peak in the early hours of 14th December.
Some shooting stars are expected to be visible between 7th and 16th December, and the Brecon Beacons International Dark Sky Reserve will be one of the best locations to catch a glimpse of them. The Geminids are one of the best meteor showers because the individual meteors are bright, very fast plus they can even produce the odd fireball!
This year, there will be more than 1 per minute, reaching up to 100 meteors per hour and, if the sky is clear, they will be even more visible due the lack of obscuring moonlight. The best time to see any will be around 2am but they start to appear from 10pm. So make sure you turn off all outside lights wrap up warm and let your eyes adjust to the dark for about 20 minutes.
