A Day of Firsts…

Our first encounter with the blue gentians of Upper Teesdale; our first glimpse of a black grouse (we think!) and our first sighting of Cauldron Snout beneath Cow Green Reservoir and dam wall. All amazing and rounded off perfectly with a pit stop at Bowless Visitor Centre.

Looking forward to returning in the summer as part of our Teesdale Way challenge…

Teesdale Way – Update

Middleton One Row to Newsham: A short (2.7 miles) but sweet meander through woodland, farmland and along the riverside – made all the sweeter by the warmer weather (begone, woolly hats) and the sight of spring getting into full swing.

Teesdale Way - Update

Starting on the banks of the Tees in the village of Neasham, this gentle, picturesque section of The Teesdale Way took us along farmland and through woodland back to the banks of the river at the village of Middleton One Row.

And no, it is no coincidence that there was a pub (Fox and Hounds) and an 18th-Century coaching inn (The Devonport) at both ends of our 4.75-mile hike!
