Welcome to our Holiday Cottage right in the heart of the beautiful harbour-side village of Dartmouth.
Summary: BRAND NEW MARCH 2020 - Captains Cottage is a newly renovated gem of a property tucked away in the heart of Dartmouth, on the flat with access for unloading right outside, Situated just off the pretty pedestrianised shopping area of Foss Street. This cute yet stylish cottage has a fun nautical theme throughout; is cleverly set out over 3 floors with maximum comfort in mind to be your home from home whilst vising the westcountry. The two bedrooms are both on the second floor with the master bedroom boasting a super king size bed, the bathroom hosts a very large walk in shower. The kitchen diner on the ground floor is a great spot to start the day or to comeback to after a day exploring the local beaches. The lounge is up on the first floor and is a great spot for the whole family to relax above the hustle and bustle of the town. Accommodation: The front door opens into the open plan kitchen diner, with wood effect flooring throughout and plenty of hanging space for coats. The dining area has a painted wooden dining table comfortably seating 6 and a large wall mounted smart TV. The kitchen area is in the far end of the room is compact yet well equipped with shaker style units housing the fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer. The range features an iconic Dartmouth splashback, there are also all mod-cons including kettle, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. There is access to the rear courtyard from the groundfloor hallway. Upstairs to the first floor where guests will find the lounge with comfortable sofas, local nautical themed memorabilia and large wall smart mounted TV. One of the sofas is a sofa double for extra guests. Window seating provides additional space to relax and watch the world go by. The family bathroom is also on this floor with large walk in shower with rainfall showerhead, toilet and hand basin. The two bedrooms are upstairs on the second floor, the master bedroom has a superking size bed, it is a zip and link bed so can be made up as 2 full size single beds (please request upon booking). The second bedroom has a double bed.
Outside: There is a small courtyard at the rear of the property. Parking: There is space to pull up outside for unloarding and a car park pass provided is valid for Mayors Avenue car park a minute walk away. It is also valid across the South Hams for use in long stay council run car parks, so as well as Dartmouth you can park for free at Slapton, Totnes, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Bigbury, Ivybridge and Modbury (details are on the pass). Please note that at significantly busy times of the year such as Regatta and the height of summer the pass does not guarantee a space, on the rare occasion the car park is full the permit is valid for the park and ride at the top of town. Nearby: From Captains Cottage you are a 2 minute walk to the river. Mitch Tonks the Seahorse and Rock Fish are a 5 minute walk away, along with The Angel. The closest pub is the Dolphin which is just around the corner on the market square. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible especially for bookings at late notice. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover.
