One ferry, two sides of the Dart and potentially a bit more time sitting in the queue. Dartmouth Lower Ferry users are being warned to plan ahead during essential maintenance this autumn. โด๏ธโฐ
From October 29 until December 13, only one ferry will operate at a time between Dartmouth and Kingswear while the Hauley VI tugboat and Tom Avis float undergo their annual refits and Maritime and Coastguard Agency inspections.
The ferry will still be running, but journeys may take longer. South Hams District Council says extra staff will be on board to help keep the service running as efficiently and safely as possible.
So if the Lower Ferry forms part of your commute, school run or regular journey across the Dart, it could be worth building a little extra time into the trip for those six-plus weeks.
