Today marks the start of October half term for most schools, and the week ahead is going to be a busy one.

Still lots of wonderful things to do, see and experience in and around Dartmouth, including the fabulous Dartmouth Food Festival which has a softer start today, due to the weather.

It’s rather stormy out there, so stay safe and let’s look forward to more autumn days like this, taken last weekend. To ease their way into their holiday at our cottage, we’ve left today’s arriving guests a bag packed with Halloween treats 🎃

We had a great time at Dartmouth Food Festival’s Opening Party on Wednesday evening in the Old Market. Under a canopy of twinkling fairy lights we enjoyed fizz, w**e, delicious local fish, venison rendang, seafood chowder, patisserie cakes and local cheeses. We wish all organisers and visitors well this weekend with their event and hope the weather sorts itself out and is less windy and rainy than is being forecast.

Seems to be a good time of year for booking holidays, as our 2027 calendar has been busy with new and repeat guests getting their preferred dates already, some of which re-booked prior to their departure.
