Regatta Traffic Management.
The map shows the flow of traffic during the Regatta, incorporating improvements requested by the town. A more efficient use of space will accommodate the Royal Shopping Parade and staging of certain events. All other usual Regatta traffic changes will still take place — including closing sections of the North and South Embankment.
The Traffic Management Plan will be effective from 23:30 (after the last no # 90 Bus passes) on Monday 24th August until Sunday 30th August.

Dartmouth Regatta 2026 – Traffic Update
We’re making some important changes to this year’s Regatta traffic system to help keep the town moving safely during our busiest week.
What’s Changing:
No traffic lights in Fairfax Place this year.
Mayor’s Avenue and The Quay will still operate as two‑way.
Instead of heading through Fairfax Place, vehicles will now go up Spithead on a temporary reversed one‑way, then continue down South Embankment as normal.
Road Access:
Smith Street stays open.
Raleigh Street stays open.
Hauley Road remains unchanged.
Parking:
All on‑street parking normally removed for traffic‑light queueing will stay in place this year.
Disabled Blue Badge parking has moved closer to the main event area — now located on South Embankment from Spithead to Hauley Road, following your feedback that Victoria Road was too far away.
Market Street:
Market Street will still close Wednesday–Saturday afternoons.
Access to businesses remains available — simply speak to the traffic operative at the closure point and they will guide you through.
Although Market Street isn’t part of the Regatta event area, our event brings significantly larger crowds into town, and it’s our responsibility to keep everyone safe. This temporary closure helps us manage those increased numbers.
Other Regatta Traffic Changes:
All other usual Regatta traffic changes will still take place — including closing sections of the North and South Embankment to create our shopping market area.
