I have struggled to find the words to write this post and I'm attempting to do so now through tear filled eyes... My dear dad passed away in December. Without him I would never have started this little venture called Mardanan's Croft. Together we transformed the forgotten little corner of the croft to what it is today. He loved being up at the site, pottering about, fixing fencing, making signs and stone walls, and creating the patio area.
Most of all he thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the lovely guests he welcomed.
I am not sure how I am going to continue without him but it doesn't seem right to stop offering our little corner of peace to visitors. I know he would want me to carry on.
I'm afraid as I live further away I won't be able to provide the same onsite welcome as he did. I could never fill dad's boots in this but I will do my best to support you remotely.
He hated me taking photos of him while he worked (!) but I'm glad I have a few to share, a couple of which also feature my dear uncle.
The site will be open again from 1 April. Here's hoping for some decent weather!
