We enjoyed last week's trip down the River Yare so much that we did it all over again yesterday. It's days like these that remind us why we love living in Norfolk—and why we love sharing it with our guests.

An easy 30-minute drive from Red Barn B&B takes you to Boat Hire Norwich. This weekend we hired one of their eco-friendly electric boats and spent a couple of glorious hours exploring the River Yare.

It's such a peaceful and relaxing way to soak up the Norfolk countryside – and we think our guests will love it too. No noisy, smelly diesel engine – just the gentle sound of water and birdsong.

Moor up at a waterside pub for refreshments with a view, or take a picnic. For photographers and nature lovers, the river is alive with birdlife. Keep an eye out for herons, cormorants, geese, swans, and kingfishers, to name just a few.

No previous boating experience needed – full instructions and safety equipment are provided, and the boats are simple and intuitive to handle.

Red barn creative

Behind every big piece is an even bigger plan. This is the part nobody sees, the hours of planning — 34 sheets of A4 covered in outline sketches, all to make sure the proportions are spot on and everything fits. Going to need lots of pens, paper and a big wall for this one!

This is just the dress rehearsal. The real thing is coming — stay tuned! 👀

Norfolk has some fabulous coastal walks and today we tried one that we hadn't walked before.....Cromer to Overstrand.
We walked along the beach from Cromer Pier (even on a busy day it was a peaceful stroll), then when we arrived at Overstrand we had a lovely lunch on the terrace of the Sea Marge Hotel taking in the beautiful views across the garden to the sea. On our return we walked along the cliffs and took in the expansive views of the North Norfolk Coast. Another day out to recommend to our guests at the Red Barn.

On a sunny day off there is nothing better than heading into the Norfolk countryside for a spot of lunch! Great views from the terrace and a great selection of food. The afternoon teas looked divine! A place we would recommend to all our guests
