Christmas is just around the corner… and what better excuse to get together, enjoy some lovely food and let someone else do the cooking!

Throughout December, join us at The Arundell for a festive get-together with our two- or three-course seasonal lunch menu. Whether it’s a catch-up with friends, a family gathering or a festive lunch with colleagues, there’s no better time to gather around the table and enjoy a little Christmas cheer.

A New Chapter at The Arundell

There’s lots happening at The Arundell, and we’re so excited to share it with you!
We’re delighted to introduce our new management team, Gavin, Rebecca and Kam, who between them bring over 75 years of hospitality experience. We’re looking forward to building on everything that makes The Arundell so special and welcoming both familiar faces and plenty of new ones along the way.

A little update on our café

We have some exciting plans to give the Arundell Café a fresh new look, so the café will be taking a little break while we work on it.

But please don’t think that means you can’t pop in! Our bar and restaurant are open to everyone, and we’d absolutely love to see more of our local community coming through the doors. Whether it’s a morning coffee, a leisurely lunch, a drink with friends or dinner, you’re always welcome. We’d love you to make yourselves at home while we get the café ready for its next chapter.

There’s lots more to come, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Thank you for being part of The Arundell’s story — we look forward to seeing you soon!

Our 2027 course calendar is taking shape, with dates now available for everything from first casts to advanced dry fly, Grayling, Sea Trout and Fly Tying.

A day at The Arundell 🌿

Wake up in the Devon countryside and start the day with a hearty breakfast before pulling on your boots for a long walk across Dartmoor.

Wander back via the café for a few picnic provisions and find a sunny spot to make the most of the last of the warm weather. Then spend the afternoon with a rod in hand at the lake.

Back to The Arundell for a well-earned drink in the garden, followed by dinner in the restaurant — seasonal, locally sourced and delicious.

As the evening draws in, retreat to the library for a drink, a game of chess and a spot beside the fire, before heading upstairs to one of our lovely rooms.

Walk. Eat. Fish. Drink. Rest. Repeat.

There’s still time to join us at The Arundell in 2026.

Whether you’re picking up a fly rod for the very first time, looking to refine your grayling technique, learning the art of fly tying or trying something a little different with pike on the fly, we have a handful of course dates remaining this year.

Led by our experienced guides and set amongst some of Devon’s finest fishing, our courses are designed to be relaxed, practical and, most importantly, thoroughly enjoyable.

There’s a new energy in The Arundell kitchen.

With our new chef at the helm and a new menu coming out of the pass, the restaurant is back and ready for action - with a renewed focus on great ingredients, beautifully cooked food and the warm, attentive service The Arundell is known for.

From pink peppercorn & dill cured trout and pan-roasted fish, to proper steaks, comforting classics and seasonal specials, this is good food without the fuss - done properly.

The kitchen is fired up, the tables are set, and we’re very excited for what’s ahead.

We’re lucky to be surrounded by brilliant local producers here on the Devon & Cornwall border, and we love keeping things close to home, sourcing locally where we can and letting the ingredients do the talking.
