Located above an extraordinary stretch of coastline at the island’s southernmost tip, with far-reaching views across the Little Minch towards Skye, this is a place of shifting light, wild horizons, and natural beauty.
 
Built in 1781 by Captain Alexander MacLeod, this soulful, historic hideaway has been part of Harris’s story for centuries.

We love winter, and if there’s one place we’d recommend escaping to this season, it’s The Carriage House. 

With Le Chameau wellies waiting by the door, a roaring fire, animals all around you, and now a beautiful new outdoor spa experience, this little Suffolk hideaway is something pretty special.
 

An oasis surrounded by nature, where you can properly switch off and leave feeling refreshed and restored, without missing out on all the little things we love about a UK winter staycation.

Jumping in muddy puddles, hot chocolates by the fire after a big countryside walk, and ordering pizza for dinner because you’ve been far too busy playing games with the kids to think about cooking.
 

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make the best memories. And The Carriage House has all the ingredients for a pretty wonderful winter escape.

Polly, Edgar, and Cedric recently escaped to the beautiful Hafod Estate in Mid Wales, and we think they’ve found their new favourite countryside hideaway.

Nestled above the Ystwyth Valley, Hafod Gwyllt is somewhere you can truly disappear for a few days, with miles of beautiful countryside to explore right from your doorstep.

As Polly so perfectly put it, “We’ve barely seen anyone and haven’t left the estate once, as there is so much to do and see here.”

And with it being Edgar’s first trip away since his injury, it made their little Welsh adventure even more special.
If you’re dreaming of a few days away with your pups, we couldn’t recommend Hafod Gwyllt enough.

A new escape, in a new corner of the countryside. Welcome to Shropshire!

Tucked away at the end of a winding country lane, past a field of friendly cows, our newest escape is a beautifully converted former milking shed with views that go on for miles.

Think afternoons curled up by the picture window, a roaring log burner, and starlit baths in the outdoor William Holland tub. A little countryside hideaway that we think you’re going to fall in love with.

A classic Cotswold cottage, but with a personality entirely of its own.

Filled to the brim with one-of-a-kind antiques, beautiful little finds, and thoughtful details, Little Stoop is full of character, charm, and little quirks you won’t find anywhere else.

And when you do venture out, you’re in one of the loveliest corners of the Cotswolds.

Wander along Chipping Campden’s high street, stop for a cosy pub lunch at Eight Bells Inn head out for a countryside walk up Dover’s Hill, or venture a little further to The Ebrington Arms, Cotswolds for a proper Sunday roast (it’s one of our favourites!)

Then it’s back to Little Stoop, where there’s always another little detail to fall in love with.

Looking ahead to the new year, we can’t think of a better way to start 2027 than with a road trip around Scotland.

Round up your favourite people, hire a van or pack up a few cars, put together a good playlist, and head north.
And what could make a Scottish road trip even better? Making it a Sand & Stone one!

Journey from West End Muse in the heart of bustling Edinburgh to Milovaig House on the Isle of Skye, with views you’ll never want to leave. Head to Oban for a stay at Home Farm or The Nest, before finding yourself tucked away in the West Highlands at Loch View Cabin.
