💙🌿 The beautiful blues of late summer 🌿💙

There’s something rather special about the colours appearing in the garden at this time of year…

The soft blue of our hydrangeas, the glossy green brown of the first conkers, and the beautiful blue-grey tones of the pine cones — nature creating its own colour palette without any help from us. 🌳✨

It’s easy to walk through a garden and notice the big displays of flowers, but sometimes it’s the smaller details that catch your eye.

A splash of blue here, an unusual texture there, and suddenly you find yourself stopping to take a closer look. 💙

Another little reminder of why we love our ever-changing garden at Afon Rhaiadr — there is always something new to discover. 🌿

🌿🥑 Vegan breakfast, but make it delicious!

A breakfast so good, you definitely don't need to be vegan to enjoy it. 😉

Creamy smashed avocado on toasted bread, topped with Gareth's slow-cooked tomato and onion sauce, with crispy little potato puffs or hash brown on the side.

Fresh, colourful, full of flavour and with plenty of satisfying crunch — the perfect way to fuel up before heading out to explore the beautiful mountains, forests and coastline around us.

And yes… that delicious tomato and onion sauce has Gareth's secret ingredient. 🤫

🍓☁️ A little taste of summer…

There are scones, and then there are Gina's family recipe scones — light as a feather, freshly baked and made with a recipe that's been passed down through the family.
Add sweet strawberries and a generous spoonful of fresh cream and you have our homemade Cream Tea… simple, traditional and utterly delicious.

Sometimes the best treats don't need to be complicated — just good ingredients, a treasured recipe, and a little time to enjoy them. 🌸☕

🌿💦 **A little local gem – The Torrent Walk**

Just a short drive from Afon Rhaiadr is one of our favourite local walks – the beautiful **Torrent Walk**, or *Llwybr Clywedog*.

Following the tumbling Afon Clywedog through ancient woodland, this lovely circular walk is full of character – cascading waterfalls, moss-covered rocks, woodland paths and the sound of rushing water all around you. 💚

There are even little glimpses into the area's industrial past, with the remains of an old iron furnace and former woollen mill hidden amongst the landscape.

At around 4 km, it's a wonderful walk for a morning or afternoon adventure – and one of those places where you find yourself stopping every few minutes to take another photograph! 📸

So if you're staying with us and fancy getting away from the crowds for a while, ask us about **The Torrent Walk**. We'd be very happy to point you in the right direction. 🌿

🍽️ The best compliment? An empty plate coming back to the kitchen! ❤️

There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing plates return to the kitchen looking like this.

We put a lot of love into the food we serve here at Afon Rhaiadr — from our homemade sauces and desserts to hearty breakfasts and our evening dishes — so when the plates come back clean, we know our guests have really enjoyed them. 🥰

No fancy words needed… sometimes an empty plate says it all! 😋
