It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to close the tearoom and today (Sunday) is our last day.
The current economic crisis, rising costs and with us being such a seasonal business relying on heavy footfall, make it unviable for us to continue in the quieter months.
We haven’t yet decided what our future holds at the moment, but I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart my dedicated staff, past and present alike, who have loyally supported me over the years.
These past few years have been particularly challenging for my current team. Recruiting has been exceptionally painful - an unfortunate fall out from Brexit and Covid. Thank goodness for my fabulous seasonal staff who have been a godsend in supporting us over the summer months.
Thank you also to those locals who have supported me over the last 13 years - through thick and thin; rain and shine.
Local businesses are tremendous assets to rural locations like Cerne Abbas, and I would urge you to spend locally whenever you can.
