✨ There’s something special about mornings in the Highlands…

We’ve been enjoying some beautiful weather lately, and the view from the bedroom window never stays the same.

Last week it was wrapped in mist, and this week the skies have opened up to reveal a whole new scene.

Our quiet balcony is the perfect spot to slow down — whether it’s a morning coffee while listening to the birds, or an evening drink while taking in the peaceful surroundings.

The fresh air, the changing views, and the gentle quietness… sometimes that’s all you need. 🌿

We have lots of stunning wild flowers growing all around us.

💛 The yellow flag wild iris can be found growing in damp land
🩷 Sea pinks (sea thrift) can be found growing in salt mashes, rocky cliffs and sand dunes
💙 Bluebells are growing all over the grass verges, hill sides and fields.

I love looking for wild orchids, they're a bit later this year and I've not seen any yet. Hopefully with the lovely sunshine we've had and a bit of rain they'll start popping up

Eilean Donan Castle looked stunning last night 🌅

Our location makes the perfect base for exploring Skye, Plockton, and the beautiful surrounding area — with the castle only around a 20-minute walk away.

After a day of sightseeing, guests love returning to the peace, comfort, and slower pace here for a few relaxing evenings

✨ It's been glorious weather here in the Highlands — sunshine forecast for a while yet 🌞

We’ve loved welcoming guests from all over the world over the past year, and it’s wonderful to see bookings continuing ahead.

This morning I’m enjoying a quiet moment on the decking, listening to nothing but birdsong 🎶

Our accommodation is often described as a sanctuary — a cosy, comfortable place to slow down and unwind. Sitting here, I completely understand why 💜

We love seeing guests start their day with a coffee or cuppa out here, or relax in the evening with a drink while taking in the ever-changing loch views.

A few photos of Eilean Donan Castle through the seasons ✨

Although the castle is currently closed due to the excitement of filming the new Highlander film, I couldn’t resist sharing a few of these.

The good news is it’s due to reopen next week, so visits will be back on the cards very soon!

Our accommodation is just about a mile away — only a few minutes’ drive to the car park, and easily walkable if you fancy stretching your legs and soaking up the scenery.

I’ve visited several times, and each visit feels different. There’s always something new to notice, so it’s well worth allowing time for it in your itinerary.

A little tip before you go: backpacks aren’t allowed inside, and photography isn’t permitted — but that just makes you slow down and really take it all in.

The memories stay with you long after you leave 🤍

🌼🌱Spring has truly arrived here in the Highlands, everywhere is looking really pretty with the bulbs, wild flowers and trees starting to show 🌼🌱

We're ready for our first guests arriving on the 3rd April, we have a small amount of availability in April if you fancy a break. 12th and 13th April and 17th - 20th
