As we anticipate late-night football fixtures, we are issuing a reminder regarding our site conduct policies.

While we encourage everyone to support Scotland, please be aware that **quiet hours from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM are strictly enforced every night**, regardless of football schedules.

* **Pub Viewing:** We recommend visiting The Eagle Hotel to enjoy the game.

* **Returning to Site:** If you head to the pub, please be mindful of your volume while walking back and when settling in for the night. Loud conversations and noise upon returning to your pitch disturb sleeping families and will not be tolerated.

* **On-Site Viewing:** If watching from your van, noise must be kept at a level that cannot be heard outside of your vehicle. If you're watching from your tent, you must wear headphones.

Failure to adhere to these rules and disturbing other campers will be treated as a breach of our site terms. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping this site quiet and respectful for all our guests.

What a lovely evening watching a very special Pipe Band Parade in Dornoch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Dornoch Pipe Band were joined by Highlife Highland Pipe Band (young Pipe and Drummers from across the Highlands) for a very special performance as part of their Centenary Celebrations 🎶 It was spectacular to watch them all perform, such an incredible sound 🤩

Did anyone else make it along tonight? 😊

If you missed them, don't worry - Dornoch Pipe Band plays every Saturday evening during the summer (weather dependant) in the Square, and whats more Dornoch Cathedral Tower is also open on these evenings. The two combined make for a wonderful evening out 🎵

Water Discolouration Update
We’re aware that the water in the park is currently appearing brown/discoloured.
We’ve been in direct contact with Scottish Water, who have confirmed that this is a temporary issue and the water is safe. The discolouration is usually caused by disturbance in the mains (for example, after maintenance or changes in flow) and should clear on its own.
We’re continuing to monitor the situation and will keep in touch with Scottish Water until it’s fully resolved.
In the meantime, if you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to us at reception.

Almost everyone who stays on our site takes a stroll into the centre of Dornoch at least once during their visit! And almost everyone, we're sure, admires Dornoch's stunning Cathedral when they're there 🏰

But... how many of you have actually stepped inside this incredible building? If you haven't, we highly recommend it! See the stunning architecture of the cathedral from a whole new perspective, marvel at the stained glass windows illuminated by the daylight pouring in, on Saturday evenings (during pipe band) take the winding stairs case upwards and reach the top of the tower where you can admire Dornoch from above...

And something most people miss, try to find the little carving of an Angel playing the Bagpipes (does anyone know where it is? Have you spotted it?).

Next time in Dornoch, be sure to visit Dornoch Cathedral and please leave a donation to help them with the upkeep of this historic building!

Yesterday, our Caravan Park Cat, Mimos, had a very sad day indeed 😔

Excited at having caught a mouse, Mimos' joy was quickly dashed when a thief from the sky, and not just any thief... one of our resident seagulls, swooped down and stole the mouse from under his nose! 🐈‍⬛️🐁🐦

And not only that, half an hour later, feeling sad and defeated, Mimos was sitting outside his caravan reflecting on the terrible tragedy when the very same seagull sneaked up behind him and picked his tail! 😮

We hope you all feel as sorry for Mimos as we do! But of course, we had to generate a little comic to make light of Mimos' devastating situation 😅

Our Swallows have returned 🐦❤️

Isn't it amazing to think that these beautiful birds have just travelled as much as 6000 miles all the way from Sub-Saharan Africa, flying over 200 miles each day. All the way back to Dornoch Caravan and Camping Park, many of them reusing the exact same nest as last year ❤️

We've got dozens of nesting pairs on site, and they're easiest to spot as they soar around the site 🪺🐦 We were lucky to capture a photo of this one as it perched on our lawnmower!

At Dornoch Caravan and Camping Park we appreciate that we share our park with a wide variety of wildlife 🌱🐦🐇🦎🦔 And, as such, we seek to create a safe place for these creatures at all times, but in particular during Bird Nesting Season! 🪺

We require all site users, whether you're staying on site or just walking through, to follow these rules -

🐕🐾 - Dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at ALL TIMES at all locations on site.

🥚⛔️ - NEVER touch, pick up or move eggs, this will cause the bird to abandon her nest.

🧍‍♀️........... 🪺 - Observe nests ONLY from a distance, do not approach or the bird will flee.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👶 - SUPERVISE your children and teach them the importance of keeping the nests safe and following these rules.

🌱🌳 - Many nests are on the ground, some in the trees, some on buildings. Please be aware wherever you go there could be a nest by your feet or above you.

💔🥚 - NEVER destroy a nest, no matter where it is and which species it belongs to.

📸🛩 - Drone flying and drone photography is STRICTLY PROHIBITED when it disturbs nesting birds, which it will do at all locations on site and in the surrounding dune land. We also STRICTLY PROHIBIT the taking off and landing of drones on our site at all times. We have personally witnessed how distressed our birds get when a drone passes over - please don't do it!

A slightly different view for you all today..

While the stunning sands and clear waters of Dornoch Beach most often come to mind when you think of our location, we are also lucky to have close proximity to, and great views towards, the rugged hills and mountains just inland 🏔🌳

Here's our view looking South West the other day just after the hills had a fresh dusting of snow 🤩

Yes, we really have it all here at Dornoch Caravan and Camping Park, whether you prefer the beach, the hills, the woods or the shops and cafes of the town - nothing is too far away when you stay here 🏖🏔🌳🏰
