The annual Well Dressing in the Peak District village of Tissington began today, in glorious spring sunshine! An ancient tradition started in the 1340s, Well Dressing involves the creation of enormous decorations for the village wells. Each one is made by hand entirely from natural materials (including flower petals, seeds, berries and wool) pressed into clay, and takes weeks to make. You can see the Well Dressings in Tissington every day until Wednesday 15 May!
