Great bike ride out form Clifford Barton this morning. The Drogo Loop. Approx 10 miles of stunning scenery along the River Teign, crossing over at the Salmon Leaps and back along Hunters Path (it's steeper than it looks). Optional refreshments stops at Castle Drogo (National Trust) cafe or the Fingle Bridge Inn.

Van du Pain is an Artisan bakery based in Moretonhampstead, that sells organic breads and a wide selection of pasties, tarts and other culinary delights. The sourdough crackers are a must, although my favourite are the lemon cruffins oozing with homemade lemon curd. Liz and Laurent sell their produce from a cute yellow French van in Moretonhampstead high street on a Saturday and Tuesday morning. Definitely worth a visit.

After a community buyout the Drew Arms is open again. A great pub. From Clifford Barton you can cycle along the river side path up to Fingle Bridge and then a short but fairly steep climb into Drewsteignton. Well worth a visit!

Ain’t Misbehavin’ will be performing a lively set 🎶 All funds generated will be shared between Food in Community and Teign Valley Larder to help keep everyone fed! Our Story

We are Vicki and Gavin and together with our three children and Twiggy (the welcome whippet) run Clifford Barton Holiday Cottages. We fell in love with Clifford Barton in 2013 and had to try and find a way to make it work as a business. My love is home furnishings and craft and Gavin’s is woodland management. We both love Dartmoor and wildlife and with the environment always at the forefront of our mind this seemed to perfect opportunity for us all.

Our vision was to create stylish cosy places to stay, well equipped, a home away from home with modern day comforts, but sympathetic to the 16th century barn history. We wanted to make it easy for guests to connect with wildlife, with bird feeders that you can watch from the comfort of the sofa, bird, wildlife, wallk and map books.
