Wigwam Holidays Little Kelk sits in the beautiful countryside of East Yorkshire on a farm.
Kelk itself is a quaint hamlet in charming rural settings, filled with peaceful natural scenery and wildlife.
The site has 6 ensuite cabins, three of which have their own hot tubs. The cabins are tucked away in the countryside from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In the surrounding area, you could adventure to the villages of Harpham (just two miles away) or Kilham (four miles), both of which have quaint little pubs or go a bit further on to the market town of Driffield. Driffield is the Capital of the Wolds and has a history that extends back to neolithic times—and it’s just a seven mile drive away. Visit the Tophill Low Nature Reserve, or pop into one of the haunted pubs in this sleepy, rural gem.
Oh, and be sure to check out the Kelk Beck, the most northerly chalk stream in the country, and its diverse habitat of fish and flora.
If streams are too small for your liking, adventure eastward to the North Sea and enjoy a sandy day at Fraisthorpe Beach, part of Bridlington Bay, and maybe try some kite-surfing. Or, go all the way to nearby Bridlington (a coastal town eight miles away) to stroll along the beautiful coastline and visit the Humber Estuary. A bit further north, you can enjoy the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast and all of its breath-taking chalk cliffs, historical lighthouses, and countryside attractions.
For any cyclists, the National Bike Route 1 is just a half mile from the site and connects to stunning interlinking walking trails that wind through beautiful scenery and wildlife. Take a stroll through the Yorkshire Wolds, or hop on your bicycle to take in the day.
When all your adventuring is over, return home to a roaring fire and a home-cooked meal at your heated wooden Wigwam. Have some laughs by the fireside, hang up your wet-suits or walking boots to dry, and then tuck in for a restful sleep beneath the stars.
