We honestly can’t quite believe we’re writing this…

Bumblebee Escapes has been named a FINALIST in all THREE categories we entered at the Yorkshire, Humberside & North East Family Business Awards 2026! 🎉

When we took over Bumblebee Escapes in 2024, we had so many ideas for what this little family business could become. Since then, there have been countless changeovers, late-night conversations around the kitchen island, lots of improvements, plenty of learning as we’ve gone along… and an enormous amount of love and hard work poured into this place.

To now have that recognised across three completely different categories feels incredibly special. 🥹

We’re particularly proud that these categories recognise not only the experience we create for our guests, but our journey as a growing family business and our commitment to building Bumblebee Escapes responsibly for the future.

And with our own little family about to grow too, this one feels particularly special. ❤️🐝

It’s often the little things that guests remember most…🐝🤎

We loved this review from guests who stayed with us for their minimoon — especially because the things they mentioned weren’t anything huge or extravagant.

The peace and quiet. Fresh milk and eggs waiting for them. Having everything they needed. Local recommendations ready to help them make the most of their stay.

And that’s exactly why we’re always looking at the smaller details across Bumblebee Escapes too.

Over the last couple of years we’ve continued to make little improvements as we go — upgrading the pod TVs, adding mirrors, replacing shower doors, investing in brand new and more energy-efficient hot tubs… alongside all the everyday touches guests might never realise have been thought about behind the scenes.

Individually, they might seem like small things.

But together, they’re what help turn somewhere to stay into somewhere you can properly switch off and enjoy. ✨

And reviews like this remind us why we keep doing it.

A little new addition to our properties this week… 🐝🏆

We’ve added our REYTA Finalist posters into little frames in each of our stays, and we have to admit… seeing them there feels pretty special. 💛

Being named a finalist for Remarkable Self Catering Accommodation of the Year still feels a little surreal.

Bumblebee Escapes is our small family-run business, so having something like this sitting alongside our guest books and welcome information is such a lovely reminder of how far we’ve come in just a couple of years.

And of course, none of it would mean anything without the guests who choose to stay with us, leave reviews, recommend us and come back again. 🫶🏼

Just a small little addition — but one we’re very proud of. 🐝✨

For us, these aren’t just nice badges to see on the app. They represent hundreds of stays, messages, changeovers, hot tub checks, welcome touches, little improvements and guests taking the time to leave feedback afterwards.
