🏊‍♂️💦 WILD SWIMMING… or as we call it in Scotland, “GET IN THE WATER AND IMMEDIATELY REGRET YER LIFE CHOICES.” 🥶😂

Tucked away in the hills above Loch Ness, hidden amongst the trees, we've got our very own wee pond perfect for a spot of wild swimming. 🌲💦

Is it heated? Naw.
Is there a lifeguard? Naw.
Is there a pool bar? Also naw.
Will the cold water make ye produce a noise only previously heard from an injured bagpipe? Aye. Almost certainly. 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

But once yer in… it's peaceful, beautiful and surrounded by proper Highland scenery. 😍🌲

And when ye get oot, ye can strut back to yer lodge feeling like a rugged Highland warrior…

while secretly wondering if yer toes will ever work again. 🥶😂

Our wee shop at Ancarraig Lodges is nearly ready for the 2026 season! ☕️🏔️✨

We’ve been busy giving the shop a refresh over the winter, and in the next couple of weeks we’ll be fully stocked and ready to welcome this year’s guests.

Pop in during your stay for:

Folk often ask what there is to do around here… apart from staring at the loch hoping Nessie sticks her head up 👀

🚢 Jacobite Loch Ness Cruises – Get out on Loch Ness for a proper look… monster spotting optional.

🦕 Nessieland – A wee quirky stop dedicated to the famous beastie herself.

🏰 Urquhart Castle – Proper Highland castle ruins with views that’ll make your camera work overtime.

🥃 Dalwhinnie Distillery – For those who prefer their spirits in a glass rather than the loch.

🏖 Dores Beach – A lovely quiet beach and a cracking sunset spot.

🪨 Corrymony Cairn – A 4,000-year-old burial chamber… older than most Highland gossip.

🌊 Falls of Foyers – A short walk to a waterfall that’s well worth the puff.
