We had a little break of 4 days from our busy season and visited Angus. On our way we visited Dunnottar Castle, Glencadam Distillery, Arbroath Abbey, Lunan Bay, Arbroath Red Cliffs and Lindores Abbey Distillery. All from one location, Lunan Bay Bed and Breakfast Balnabrechan Lodge, a perfect location to do the trips. Balnabrechan is a beautiful wooden lodge, quiet and surrounded by coast and history with an amazing host Jules. The Abbey has a lot of information about the famous Declaration of Arbroath and is a beautiful site. And when in Arbroath we had to taste the smokies of course. On our way back we visited the Fettercairn Distillery with its very unique stills and great whisky. We will of course share our findings with our guests.

Just 2 miles from our B&B you’ll find Glenrinnes distillery, producing award winning organic gin and wodka. You can visit them anytime during opening hours for a quick tour and try (and buy!) their products!

Great visit close to Cardhu distillery! It’s a museum telling about the wool industry in the early 1900’s, the equipment is still in use today for the tourists to see it in action. Of course you can buy amazing tartan wool items. There is also a lovely tea room and lovely walks besides the river Spey.

Sooo.. we have a new project for the winter. To give the lounge a bit more atmosphere we want to paint the walls medium to dark brown. Which one do you think looks best? 😁

This week was the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival and we had special guests in. Kenny Macdonald and Viktorija Macdonald who are independent bottlers - Dràm Mòr Group Ltd. Bottlers of the best whisky men can get. To thank them for their ever lasting positive spirit last week I had to do something in return. Hear hear ... The Dram Mor Song!
