Anstey Mills Cottages

Anstey Mills Cottages Two self-catering cottages on Exmoor, peace & quiet with wood-fired sauna Both cottages show character as well as contemporary style. We also welcome dogs.

They are extremely well equipped and very comfortable. Parties for up to 10/11 can ideally combine both places. ANSTEY MILLS COTTAGE, one end of the Devon Longhouse, is converted into a fully self-contained comfortable and spacious (175 sq m ) holiday home (sleeping 6+1child). Downstairs it has a large farmhouse kitchen, a sitting room with wood-burner and oak flooring, a utility, a toilet & showe

r and a big entrance hall. Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms – one en-suite with 5' four-poster-bed (soft carpets throughout) and the main bathroom /toilet, both with bath over shower and heated towel rails. A landing door leads across a small bridge to a large sloping garden (BBQ & garden furniture available). ANSTEY MILLS THATCHED COTTAGE, an old thatched barn close to the Longhouse has been restored to a luxurious (65 sq m) self-catering cottage (2 +2 small children). It has a galleried bedroom with generous space for a couple and possibly one or two small children (single futons or sofa bed downstairs). It has heated floors in kitchen and bathroom and a whirlpool bath. Otherwise the floors are oak panels. From the first floor you have access to a large patio area - a real sun-trap - ideal for dining 'al fresco' or star gazing (Exmoor National Park has been designated the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe!), overlooking your own secluded garden (BBQ & furniture available) . This is a wonderful place for families with children, they have lots of space to run about outside, unrestricted by traffic on this non-working farm (own private single track access). Ebony, our cocker spaniel is happy to make two- or four-legged friends. A footpath/bridleway runs through the farm giving immediate access to Exmoor’s impressive countryside; good to see Exmoor Ponies as well as deer ( all within walking distance).

Vote for the South West Coast Path
The Ramblers' annual ‘Britain's Favourite Path' competition has just launched, and the SWCP is amongst the finalists. Thank you to Jonathon Jones for the nomination, who had this to say about the Path, "Healing solitude with incredible light, sounds of nature and breathtaking views - simply, heaven on earth."
Cast your vote before 31st July 2025.
