Summer arrived here on the Solway Coast yesterday 🌞⛱
So what better time than to announce that this Summer season which will end in September, is our sixth and it’s time for me to hang up my apron, dustpan and brush! Yes Skeena Lodge is no longer taking any more bookings. I have really enjoyed making our wee lodge ‘home from home’. Yes I will miss many aspects of the holiday home but have other plans closer to family home planned.
Very many thanks to all our guests that have supported us through the last six years! Some folks have visited once and others have become regulars. Thank you for looking after our wee lodge and wishing you all many happy future holidays!

We are ‘Summer Ready’ here on the Solway Coast! Guests arriving most weeks now! All we need is outside warmth and regular sunshine! 🤗 If the worst should happen ☂️💦 then there is plenty of drying space and inside warmth. The sun is up the sky is blue and Spring has sprung here at the wee lodge on the Solway 🤗
Looks like there is going to be a good crop of apples here in the garden this year!
Still a few vacancies available for holidays too! Fully fenced in garden for four legged friends 🐾🐾
oh! and the grandchildren too are safe whilst you have a cheeky ice cream in the sunroom 🍦
☂️rainy days? well we have a fully stocked cupboard of DVD’s, plenty of games in the game cupboard and a great cupboard right by the boiler for drying clothes! What more could you ask for?

Unfortunately Southerness and many areas in SW Scotland and our wee lodge is included have been without power since Friday evening. Storm Arwen hit some of our area hard. Our current guests have ‘abandoned ship’ and gone home for a warm! Let’s not forget that SP Networks are working hard and often through the night to rectify the problems for us all.

AUTUMN UPDATE
Hoping that this post finds you all well, and looking forward to the festive season 🎄
I have an unfortunate update regarding any 2022 bookings for our wee lodge.
Following the end of season Autumn🍁clean and freshen up at the wee lodge it has been discovered that unfortunately the sofa bed in the lounge area has sustained damage over the 2021 season. I know not who, when or how it has occurred, however I have experienced trampolines with similar ‘spring’ damage!
Upon detailed inspection it has been discovered that the ‘hefty’ spring that assists the folding out mechanism had at some point been dislocated and jammed within the framework, causing some substantial bending of the bed supports (not the sofa) making it fragile to fold up!
Unfortunately whilst the damage is ‘home DIY’ repairable, re attaching the substantial spring, however we are unable to straighten the metalwork (so not a 100% repair).
We are approaching a sixth season of business, in the long term it is not viable for me to purchase a new sofa bed as I am planning on winding down the business in approximately 18 months time.
I am therefore reluctantly informing you that for the coming 2022 season that the lodge is only available for use with the double bed and twin beds and therefore up to four persons (not 6) and four legged friends are of course very welcome🐾🐾. Generally there will be no use of the sofa bed in the lounge. I do apologies for the inconvenience if you were planning on making a family booking. If you have any questions about a booking - please get in touch!
