Breeze, the "Dolphin dog" just showing us all how it is done.

We are always receptive to collaborating with local businesses to support their accommodation needs and one of our best yet was the recent collab with The Yoga Den in East Linton.

Simply Flow, a women's yoga & surf retreat held in Dunbar last week end was a beautiful and energising few days. Loved having you all stay with us.

A current guest who remembers the Dolphin Inn from its pub days loves this sign that we saved during the renovation. Just look at those prices from 2013, sure it brings back a lot of good memories for many people in the town. Sadly no bar now but we love all the memorabilia that we managed to save and find a place for. It seems important somehow to keep hold of these things and make sure that we don't sweep away history.

What a lovely thank you note and sweet flowers.

We have a lot of "whole hires" where groups book out the hostel for a few days. Usually these are family gatherings or wedding parties and the hostel provides a welcoming home from home experience where people can hang out together in a relaxing self catered space. We have 27 beds spread over 10 rooms, suitable for all ages (although all our rooms are upstairs so not fully accessible). We also can provide accommodation for events with our first yoga retreat taking place at the end of May (with The Yoga Den) and the ELAF* crew are back for a week in July for their 6th year.

Don't suppose anyone lost this boot outside the Dolphin yesterday (Tuesday)? Thought it might belong to one of our guests but no one has claimed it. Have asked at the Hillside too. Size 10 although if it is your boot you will know this....

Hello! I visited in 2023 and fell in love with "my" room. So I would very much like the same one. It had a picture of seagulls above the bed and a picture claiming salt water was the solution to everything.

Just love this message! This lovely double room on the second floor has dual aspect windows too so you can see the sea over the rooftops and the Lammermuir Hills in the other direction.

We were delighted to welcome these beautiful Lambretta's at the week-end. About 60 scooters from the Lambretta Club of Scotland buzzed into the Dunbar sunshine on Saturday afternoon at the end of a run from Troon. We had about 14 in the Courtyard - what a fantastic sight! Great bunch of people too, particularly enjoyed the multiple fish tank jokes! Enjoy your trip to Austria next month.

I've got mixed views about this little teapot as whilst I love the Big Top design and the gold detailing, on closer inspection the performing animals and the Ring Master's whip represent a lot of suffering. This teapot was part of a series produced in the '80s and it is hard to imagine that wild animals were still featuring in circuses at that time. However, it was only in 2018 that the Scottish Parliament passed The Wild Animals in Travelling Circuses (Scotland) Act that prohibits the use of wild animals.

One of the best things about being by the coast is that Dunbar has a wonderful set of harbours built around the Broadhaven landing area which has been in use since 1555. The Cromwell Harbour dates back to 1574 and the larger Victoria Harbour, in the picture, dates from 1842 (the remains of Dunbar Castle are in the background). At this time of year the harbours start springing back to life, although the fishermen and RNLI are active all year round. Pleasure boats are lifted back into the water, catering units make a welcome return and there is always something going on for passers by to watch. I like it best in the evening with the last of sun setting behind the castle and the gentle sounds of the harbour filling the air.
