All bedrooms have flat screen television, telephone, Hospitality tray with tea/coffee and Borders Biscuits, hairdryer and ironing facilities. Internet access/WiFi is available throughout the hotel. Our snug lounge bar is traditional with a contemporary twist. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a drink before lunch or dinner. Offering its own menu, the bar serves a selection of homely snacks and

hearty plates. There’s also flat screen television to watch those all-important sporting events or just catch up on news of the day. The 1902 Grill is chic and uncluttered – a pleasant space in which to enjoy a delicious meal made from fresh seasonal produce, perhaps complemented with something special from our well-stocked wine cellar. Our chef and his staff have conceived a tempting menu of traditional and local specialities to which can be added our “daily specials”. Booking is advisable to avoid disappointment! The Goldenstones Suite is the perfect venue for weddings and other family celebrations with dining for up to 120 guests. We can also offer an elegant and spacious bridal bedroom, with further accommodation for family and guests in 20 en suite rooms. The suite is also ideal for Christening celebrations, family parties, dinner dances and funeral wakes. It can also accommodate up to 150 for business conferences and training seminars.

From our Summer Menu, here are two outstanding dishes that have received incredible praise since their launch...

✨ **Our take on Burrata** – served with grapes, thyme, honey, and bee pollen, all surrounded by a crisp crostini. A beautiful way to begin your dining experience.

🍯 **Tell it to the Bees** – a stunning dessert featuring a white chocolate sphere filled with honey parfait, bee pollen, and our homemade honeycomb. Finished tableside with a rich espresso caramel sauce for the perfect finale.

June is the perfect time to settle into relaxed dining at 1902 Bar & Grill. With our long summer evenings, fresh seasonal flavours, and a welcoming atmosphere, there is no better excuse to gather with friends, enjoy time with family, or simply treat yourself to a great meal.

Our summer edition menu, created by Head Chef Darryl Keillor and his team, is already receiving fantastic feedback, bringing together quality local ingredients and beautifully balanced dishes inspired by the season.

It was a pleasure to welcome the members of Whitburn Rural Group today for High Tea. They joined us on their day out to East Lothian and enjoyed a delicious menu selection of Fish & Chips, Steak Pie, or Chicken, followed by freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream and a selection of cakes, all washed down with tea and coffee.

We cannot thank you enough for your support. Your feedback was amazing, and it was lovely to welcome everyone to The Dunmuir today. Safe travels back to West Lothian, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Dessert – Chocolate & Cherry Fondant
Chocolate sauce / chocolate soil / malt milk ice cream

“When something is done right, it is worth the wait. The flavour of the black cherry stood toe to toe with the bitterness of the cocoa-rich chocolate, balancing it beautifully with sweet fruit acidity. The rich, creamy malt ice cream could have carried a slightly stronger malt profile, as the chocolate and cherry were both so robust. The chocolate soil added crunch and texture. When first served and cut in two, the centre simply oozed from the middle.”

Horseradish mash / cavolo nero / tenderstem broccoli

“The long, slow cooking of the cheek had transformed all the connective tissue into a wonderfully flavoursome richness. The ragu-style sauce had a beautiful sheen and a deep, robust flavour. The horseradish was clearly evident in the mash, yet the strength of the beef stood up to it well. Vibrant green stems retained their bite, offering contrast in both flavour and texture. The crispy cavolo nero shattered delicately, adding a subtle note to the dish. A great combination of flavours.”

To start – King Scallops 😁😍

“Their natural flavour remained evident at all points when taken with each complementing flavour. The curried flavour was quite subtle and not as prominent as it could have been without overpowering the shellfish flavour. Texture and sweetness of the pomegranate worked well, as did the cubes of potato and chorizo. With some potentially strong flavours on this plate there was a risk of the headline flavour being overpowered, but the reality was that the enhancing flavours were all quite subtle and at times did not stand out.”
