Classic Black

I really do love the old features and trying to restore and keep what we can 😍

I'm also thinking some nice tiles to replace the existing terracotta ones 😊

Afterall first impressions are important right?🔑

We have a main door entry and free on street parking ✅

It's a work in progress but hoping to be opening in the coming months, license permitting of course 🙏

The V & A in Dundee, thoughts?

An architectural dream or disaster?

Whatever you think of the building, it has lots of free activities for kids, a cute little shop, cafe upstairs and exhibitions that are worth a look.

It’s 10 minutes from the flat, situated on the river Tay.

Personally I’m big fan! I love that Dundee has this and people travel here to visit. The only other one is London! Go Dundee 🙌

Do you know a 10 minute walk from our apartment along towards the V & A, there is the Dundee cycle hub. It's such a fab little place! With a brilliant cafe and lots of gluten free options which is always good! 🚴‍♂️

You can hire all kinds of bikes in there, including electric bikes. Why not see some of the area on two wheels? Take the cycle path towards Broughty Ferry and head on out to Monifieth or Carnoustie for a bite of lunch; or head across the bridge and cycle out to Tentsmuir forest to thee most beautiful beach 😍 and grab a crepe at the salt & pine food truck 😋

It's been six years now since we started with our very first holiday let. Six years!!!!! Two are now running and our third is underway - yikes!

In that time I've learned.....

📆 Being self employed I needed to be better at managing my time (that took some work and discipline and is still a work in progress)

➡️ To keep looking forward and recognise that change is good although it doesn't always feel like that at the time and especially not in the first 6 months as there is an identity that you miss, the one who knew what she was doing!

🙄 Feeling incompetent and making mistakes is part of the learning process ( no one likes that ) I usually manage it by fessing up but I beat myself up A LOT (language can be colourful)

🤷‍♀️ You can't please every one and people's perception of what is good and what isn't varies and that's ok, we always take on board feedback and we really try our best to please our guests.

👍 👎 We all have strengths and weaknesses, it's good to know both and play to your strengths and get someone in to do the other bits.... Grant????

🫣 I still have that awful stomach lurch feeling if a guest calls and says something isn't right or it's not working ( I hope that feeling of panic eventually lessens)

🥰 I loved working in hospitality when I was younger, so no surprises really that I'm enjoying what I now do - going back to my roots, meeting and working along side new people and absolutely loving this new chapter! 🙌

Our apartment at Marine Parade is perfectly located in Dundee, a short 10 minute stroll along the waterfront with beautiful views of the River Tay, which takes you into town.

💫 Recent guest reviews have commented that it is a great location, immaculate, well equipped, excellent showers and comfortable beds.

🛀 Two bathrooms (one is en suite)

🅿️ We have an elevator for ease with luggage or for those with mobility issues and designated free parking.

Looking for some Dundee bits and pieces for the holiday rentals....... any ideas?

Dundee is famous for lots of things and marmalade jam is one of them! I bought this dish towel that I found in the shop at DCA, a tunnocks tea cake one too. Love them 😍

Our Dundee apartment is a great base for exploring further afield.

The apartment offers free parking if you have your own car or the bus and train service is a 10 minute walk.

If guests ask me where should they go that gets them out of the city these are always on the list...

Tentsmuir beach for a walk and to the salt & pine creperie or West Sands in St Andrews and Dook for the best coffee and a sandwich.

Slightly further but worth it, Dunnotter castle in the lovely little town of Stonehaven and the Tolbooth for seafood.

🔑 Little keyrings for the holiday rentals complete with a QR code so that when guests stay, they can have a nosey on our social media pages and see that they can book direct with us if they want to return.
