s suitable for alergy sufferers, though these can be changed for 100% cotton. There is a Smart TV and plenty of freeview channels. Blackout curtains ensure you sleep as long as you want and we hope you will find all you need in the way of complementary items in both your room and the en suite. There are always plenty of cold choices and warm pastries at hand in the dining room to ward off the morning hunger pangs till your cooked breakfast arrives. Fresh coffee, chocolate and a variety of teas can also be
"to go" in takeaway cups when you leave us and if you havnt managed to eat all your pastries, then pop them in a napkin for later and we'll find you a paper bag. The dining room also boasts a lovely, original, victorian fireplace, which we light on dull winter mornings. Theres a smart TV and a comfy sofa. Please feel free to enjoy this room during your stay. On a sunny morning, you can take your breakfast outside and enjoy the garden in a choice of seating areas. If you dont wish to venture into town to eat, especially if arriving late, you can leave your mobile number or email address at the time of booking and we will send you the dinner menu for that evening. Clootie dumpling can be added to any of the breakfast choices. You only get a wee bit. Your plate’s probably crowded already. Ask Bryan if you want more.
It’s a rich steamed raisin dumpling full of aromatic sweet spices, thick, dark, black treacle, golden syrup and sharp, juicy apple. The chewy skin on the outside is prized….. 🥴I know? Eaten as dessert on special occasions, but most famously fried as part of your breakfast next day. I must just add for those of you out there like me who HATE CANDIED PEEL. Only big fat raisins, currants and sultanas. Promise.

More stonemasonry goings on at Dupplin152 bed and breakfast.

Turns out the 150 year old, 8ft wall at the street was failing at the top and would fall onto the pavement eventually. So to avoid maiming some poor passer-by, it was time to get Kevin and William back to save the day.

Of course they were amazing.

The rest of the wall was re pointed after the breach was rebuilt, which looks great. don’t you think?

It’s January 2023 and we’re closed for a few weeks.
Time to take time…to repair, update and chill a wee bit after a busy 2022, before 2023 kicks in.
And to say a huge thank you to all our guests for all your feedback. You’ve helped keep Dupplin152 “top of the heap” in Dundee.

Speaking of repairs...the last frost in December killed all the stone steps in the front garden leading up to the house. So we’ve hired Kevin Williamson stonemasons to rip it all back and renovate the steps. Making them safe and aesthetically right for a Victorian garden.

Here’s the before photos. I look forward to posting the afters next week. Weather permitting.

Nights are getting darker and colder, so time to bring on the stick-to-ur-ribs, warm-u-up homemade soups.
At Dupplin152 BnB in Dundee, we're way ahead with prep for all of you who can't face venturing out in the cold in search of supper.

So i thought I'd share my own recipe for the heartiest of them all...Scottish Cullen Skink. ( Cullen refers to the town of Cullen in Moray. Skink, Im not so sure about) An amazing local speciality thats well worth a wee bit of effort, but still simple.... Mind you, if you can't be bothered picking the flesh of a pair of Arbroath smokies, or Finnen Haddie. you can always buy fillets, but not the dyed, yellow haddock please.
