The sky says freezing temperatures but the scenery screams the glorious Glen. In every season Pittencrieff Park shines in all her splendour. One of our favourite places whatever the season and a firm favourite with our guests.

A lovely surprise was waiting on us today when we arrived to do our changeover. Our guests from Tennessee had checked out and left us a thank you card and goodies from Trader Joes. They’ve travelled all around Scotland and fell in love with Dunfermline. So thoughtful, were really touched. Question is did the apple cookies make it out of the flat 😐

Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves that we get to look out to this magnificent vista every single day! This morning the low autumn sun beginning to rise and reflecting on the buildings filled us with utter joy!

Dunfermline Abbey has always been a huge hit with our guests and even more so now, as it hosts an exhibition where you can come face to face with Robert the Bruce. A 3D model of the warrior king was put on display to the public for the first time to celebrate the 750th anniversary of his birth.

The reconstruction is thought to be the most realistic likeness that’s been produced to date and was created as part of a collaboration between the University of Glasgow and Liverpool university face lab. Housed in the beautiful Nave head along to see the most realistic model of Scotland’s greatest monarch. Exhibition runs until 7th September.

The wonder and vivid colours of our beautiful Glen were showcased to hundreds of visitors this weekend when put on the Bruce festival. We had guests from Australia who were absolutely thrilled to catch some of the festival on Saturday. They are returning to Australia with some incredible memories of our wonderful city and its history thanks to this great event. Fantastic work 👏🏽

Autumn has arrived and summer feels like it has gone by in a flash. We have been so busy with lots of great guests and had a few return visitors which has been delightful. The heritage quarter and all it has to offer always featuring in their highlights of the visit. Today with the golden autumn sunshine we couldn’t agree more!

The sun is out and the savvy team at Blend have introduced 3 varieties of cookie ice cream sandwiches to their menu for summer. Today we sampled one in their glorious gardens, a complete genius addition to the already delicious offerings at Blend. Now to try the other 2 flavours!

Checking in guests today from Tennessee who are on the last leg of their trip to a Scotland and picked Dunfermline as their final destination as they are huge Big Country and Skids fans. The legendary Dunfermline music scene still making waves across the world! Walking back from our check in through the gardens today what an utter joy our neighbourhood is.
