My son the fisherman (with a very dodgy moustache) needs your votes! 🎣

He's entered a photo competition and I'd love your support. Please vote for #8!

Thank you! 💙

Here’s my first go at a dead hedge—think Andy Goldsworthy meets garden tidy-up. A jumble of sticks turned into something surprisingly pleasing!”

Yew never saw this coming. Branch manager in training scaling new heights of mischief. He’s really gone out on a limb this time

Today’s adventure took us along the Spittal promenade to the beautiful Cocklawburn beach—a scenic out-and-back walk of around 7km. Cocklawburn isn’t just a breathtakingly clean stretch of coastline; it’s also a treasure trove of ancient fossilised life, preserved in the layered rock formations scattered across the shore.

Part of today’s haul, arranged left to right: four chicken eggs—including a tiny ‘fart egg’—an Indian Runner duck egg (one of ten stashed in the undergrowth), and a Peking duck egg. Surplus eggs are available to guests.

A timely reminder to all dog owners 🤒

Did no one tell Santa that animals can’t have minced pies? The dried fruit in them is poisonous, even in small quantities 🍇☠️

Other toxins common around the festive period are:
🍫Chocolate
🍾Alcohol
🌰Macadamia nuts
🧄Alliums - onion, leeks, garlic and chives
🍬Sweets containing the artificial sweetener xylitol
🌺Plants - poinsettia, holly, mistletoe, lily, ivy and potpourri

If you are worried your pet may have eaten any of these, please give us a call immediately, the quicker we act the better📞

After a refreshing walk at Abbotsford and a delicious meal at their café (panini with haggis), I was treated to this stunning sunset on the drive home.
