Due to increased demand the Old Hunters Lodge (Whipsnade) are seeking a part time experienced and passionate chef to join our kitchen team. Hours will include weekday and some weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing good quality dishes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for helping create menus, managing food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and working collaboratively with our experienced team to deliver an exceptional dining experience. You will also be required to enjoy your work, smile and have a laugh with our team. Remuneration will depend on experience. If you are creative, dedicated, and eager to bring fresh ideas to our kitchen, we would love to hear from you.

Old Hunters Lodge launched their new menu a few weeks ago and the feedback has been fantastic. But Luke and his team continue to add dishes to their daily specials (always listed on our website - www.oldhunterslodge.co.uk)

Old Hunters Lodge “Brand New Menu”

After a successful three week trial, we can now officially reveal our brand new menu.

Following an extensive review by our Head Chef Luke Hamilton and his team, in addition to feedback from our loyal customers, we have come up with what we believe to be a menu to suit all.

A nice selection of starters including 6 new offerings and a lovely mix of traditional home cooked pub grub mains including 9 new offerings. A new look Light Bite Summer selection with Fresh Salads, Ploughman’s, Baked Potatoes & Ciabattas and of course we have our Little Hunters selection for the youngsters.

In addition to smaller portion options on the mains. Luke’s also added a fantastic range of Gluten Free, Vegan and Vegetarian options throughout the menu.

In addition to our extensive selection of alcoholic beers, wines and spirits, we’ve also added some new alcohol free options for the designated driver.

We’re open 7 days a week from 12pm and serve food all day.

Add to that a sprinkle of friendliness on arrival and a beautiful country garden. What’s not to like.

In addition to a wide variety of new dishes, we’re now offering smaller portions on a number of our main menu options. We’ve extended our GF - VEGETARIAN & VEGAN and in addition to a fantastic selection from of Alcoholic Beers, Wines and Spirits we added to our already wide range of Alcohol Free options.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON ROAD CLOSURE !!!

Following lots of phone calls, emails and continued pressure from us to Affinity Water.

The road has now been repaired and we’re waiting on the concrete and tarmac to set. We have been advised the road will reopen this afternoon.

Although this issue is not directly connected to us, we have been getting lots and lots of calls for updates. For that reason we will keep you all posted through our page.

Naturally this has had a big impact on us, the church, the Zoo and the local community.

As a business and we’ve now been told by Affinity Water we have no chance of reclaiming loss of earnings.

Running a Restaurant/Pub is difficult enough, but we will remain positive and press on (as we always do)
