Beautiful weekend at Misty Isle Cottage, Uig. Busy in the garden and pleased with the result. Bit of extra exercise, too. Climbed the fir tree to recover a previous guests Drone to return to them. So, a good result all round.

If you're driving up from Glasgow, (or Edinburgh via the A 82), you'll pass this memorial, on the hill out of Spean Bridge, just north of Fort William. A superb statue in memory of the Commando's who were trained in this part of the Highlands. A touching tribute to the Royal Marines and their army counterparts. A visit to stop, pay ones respects and take in the magnificent scenery in quiet contemplation is recommended.

I was asked if we have two bathrooms/loos....well, here we are. Family bathroom, with bath, shower cubicle, loo and basin downstairs and new shower room with loo upstairs, between bedroom two and three. With a big family like ours, two loos are a must!!

Flat calm day in Mallaig. Some prefer to get the ferry to the South of Skye from here and drive up the island. Just a nice place place to stop, look and maybe have a cup of tea in the sun/rain/wind/ snow/gale.....pick the one most appropriate!!

So many lovely spots up here in the West Highlands as well as Skye, well worth a drive around to see. I found myself as an 'accidental tourist' a short while ago so took a few pictures. An amazing bay below a single track road high up the side of a hill on the way to Kilchoan. Beautiful place. And the second is on the quayside at Lochalaine with a glimpse of the Isle of Mull in the background.
