When guests book with us we send out an email with local information. For instance if you need a taxi whilst you are staying with us book well in advance as it’s a one man one car operation, no taxi ranks here! We also strongly advise that you book restaurants ahead of arrival, even if it’s only for the first night. Restaurants in the village book up well in advance. It wouldn’t be the first time guests didn’t take the advice and they had to get snacks from the village shops for dinner because the restaurants didn’t have availability. We are very lucky in Dunvegan to have excellent places to eat.
The Old School is the most popular, open daily except Thursday. Booking essential.
Blas-Skye is next door, open Wednesday to Sunday.
Isle of Spice is a recently opened Indian restaurant/take away, again popular. Open daily. Book ahead to eat in.
The Misty, pizza, burgers, fish and chips, ice cream. Open daily.
Atholl House, open for meals Monday to Friday, booking essential.
The Dunvegan, open Tuesday to Saturday, booking essential.
Further afield you’ll find The Stein, Loch Bay, both in Waternish. Booking essential for both, especially Loch Bay as it is a Michelin Starred restaurant and books up months in advance.
Approximately 8 miles away is Edinbane Inn and Edinbane Lodge. Edinbane Inn is more pub food type of place. Booking essential.
Edinbane Lodge is a taster menu and is Michelin mentioned and has numerous awards and rosettes. Open Monday to Friday, booking essential, books up months in advance.
In Colbost which is approx 6 miles away is The Three Chimneys and booking is essential, gets booked up months in advance. There is also a Three Chimneys at Talisker where you can get a wonderful lunch but must be booked well in advance.
Check out individual website for opening times, sample menus and prices. We’ve eaten at all these places and we can recommend them all.
