It’s cosy, full of warmth and character, a place to relax on the comfy sofa, put your feet up in front of the wood burner and take in the view, which is stunning. It has a king size iron and brass bed, luxury bathroom ensuite with a slipper bath and a walk in drenching shower. A kitchen with full size oven and fridge with icebox, and a porch with plenty of space for wet coats and wellies. I’m sorr

y but we do not take dogs. Colbost is ideally situated for some of Skye’s most breathtaking places to explore. Neist Point, Coral Beach, Dunvegan Castle & Gardens. A drive away from the Cuillin mountains and Portree. We are only a five minute walk from the World-famous, Three Chimneys Restaurant; and a lesiurely stroll away from seals, dolphins, sea otters and a vast array of seabirds.

You don’t live on the Isle of Skye if you need endless sunshine. What you do need is a certain amount of resilience and a big sense of humour…both of which have failed me lately 😂

Season 2026 is in full swing, and it’s a real pleasure to have guests back at the Bothy. Their reactions on arrival—especially when they see the view—are always a highlight, and the kind reviews they leave remind me just how fortunate we are to live here, and how special Billy’s Bothy really is.

They almost seem too cheerful as the cold still lingers but perhaps winter is beginning to loosen its grip.

I’m starting to get Billy’s Bothy ready for the new season, a slightly different season this year. With 12 grandchildren - (yes I know I’m far too young to have that many) we need to readjust our work/life balance, so we have decided to open for just 100 nights this year, giving us more time to see them as they all live hundreds of miles away 😢

So if you don’t want to miss out on this stunning view in a beautiful Bothy where attention to detail is key you had better book soon!
