As County Durham host this spectacular event.

World-class sporting action will come to the streets of County Durham and Sunderland this year when the North East hosts stage three of the Tour of Britain cycle race.

The race organisers announced the route today and we are delighted Durham City has been chosen as the starting point of stage three on Tuesday 6 September.

Equally exciting is the fact the route will showcase other parts of our beautiful county. This ties in with Durham’s shortlist bid to be UK City of Culture 2025, which aims to secure the title for the whole county.
