If there’s one thing this project has taught us, it’s that building something special takes time… and a very good sense of humour. 😂

There have been delays, surprises, setbacks, and more than a few moments where we thought, “Surely we must be nearly there now!”

But through it all, we’ve kept going.

Every bit of progress, every lesson learned, and every unexpected twist has become part of the story. And one day, when guests are sitting here taking in the view, this long journey will just make it all the more meaningful.

For now, we’ll keep laughing, plod on, and look forward to the day we finally welcome guests 🌅

For the geologists out there…. This is situated right in the Moine Thrust… a fascinating geology goldmine - where two continents collided.

Fraser Eadie is a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable, funny and keeps everyone safe during the tours.

A real great bit of history here and, for those who didn’t know, Durness is also home to the famous Moine Thrust – one of the world’s most important geological sites, where you can literally stand on evidence of ancient continents colliding hundreds of millions of years ago.

“So… when’s Sango Sunrise opening then?” 😅

What started as an idea overlooking the stunning Durness coastline became years of planning, building, problem-solving, setbacks, determination, and more than a few cups of coffee for Ben.

Built with blood, sweat, tears, and an awful lot of stubbornness, this pod has been a true labour of love.

This video shows just some of the journey from dream to reality.
