Wild Acre Village Wins Gold at Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards

We’re absolutely delighted to share some fantastic news from Sundown Adventureland…

Wild Acre Village has been awarded Gold for Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year at the Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards 2026.

Organised by Visit Nottinghamshire, these prestigious regional awards celebrate the very best of the county’s tourism and hospitality sector - recognising the businesses creating outstanding visitor experiences across the region.

To be recognised among such strong local competition is a huge achievement in itself. Even more excitingly, as Gold winners, Wild Acre Village will now go on to represent Nottinghamshire at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, competing on the national stage.

Since opening, Wild Acre Village has been all about creating something a little bit different - a place where families can extend the magic of a day at Sundown into a memorable short break in the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside alongside our magical theme park for under 10’s. To now see that vision recognised at a regional level is something we’re incredibly proud of.

From the very beginning, the focus has been on thoughtful design, imaginative theming, and those little details that make a big difference - whether it’s the peaceful setting, the comfort of the accommodation, or the ease of stepping straight from your lodge into a full day of fun and adventure.

But more than anything, this award is a reflection of the people behind it.

Debs Griffin, Director at Sundown Adventureland, said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to receive this award. Wild Acre Village has been a real labour of love, and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our entire team. From the early planning stages right through to welcoming our first guests and beyond, everyone has gone above and beyond to create something special for families. This recognition means a huge amount to all of us.”

Since opening, the response from guests has been overwhelmingly positive, with families embracing the opportunity to turn a day out into a short break - combining the charm of Sundown Adventureland with the comfort and relaxation of a countryside stay.

Winning Gold at the Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards is a milestone moment - and with the VisitEngland national finals ahead, the journey is far from over.

We look forward to welcoming many more families to Wild Acre Village and continuing to build something truly special together.
