🚻 A Polite Reminder to All Our Guests 🚻
As a small family-run campsite, we work hard to keep our facilities clean, well maintained and available for everyone to enjoy.
Unfortunately, we are having to replace another main sewage pump this weekend after stones were put down one of the toilets, causing significant damage. We also had to replace a pump just six weeks ago, meaning this will be the second replacement in less than two months Each pump costs around £700, before labour and fitting.
As we are not connected to mains drainage, our system is much more sensitive. The ONLY thing that should ever be flushed is toilet paper and human waste. Please do not flush baby wipes (even those labelled “flushable”), sanitary products, nappies, paper towels, food, stones or any other items, as they can cause blockages and costly damage.
We would also kindly ask parents to supervise children when using the toilet facilities to help prevent accidental or deliberate misuse.
Unexpected repairs like this have a significant impact on a small family business. Money that could have been invested into improving the campsite is instead being spent replacing damaged equipment, and unfortunately it affects the facilities available to all of our guests.
