I know we put lot's on here about the wonderful area that we are in, but photo's don't really give places justice, and really tell you why you really should visit!

We are going to do a short "mini series" on some of the places to visit from the marvel that is You Tube! - There is some 'mince' on there but we are trying to filter the best video's that best reflect the venues.

Let’s talk about Torksey! 👇

If you love exploring hidden historic gems, peaceful riverside walks, and the perfect slice of homemade cake, Torksey in Lincolnshire needs to be at the top of your weekend bucket list! 🥾🍰

🏰 Step Back in Time at Torksey Castle
Rising dramatically from the eastern bank of the River Trent, the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Torksey Castle are a sight to behold. Though called a castle, this Grade I listed Elizabethan manor house was built in the 1560s. Its striking red-brick facade and angular towers survived the English Civil War and still stand proud today, offering the ultimate backdrop for photography lovers and history buffs alike.

☕ Refuel at the Torksey Lock Coffee House
After soaking up the local history, take a short stroll down to the water to find the ultimate hidden oasis: the Torksey Lock Coffee House. Nestled right where the historic Fossdyke Canal meets the River Trent, this charming independent cafe serves up some of the best hot sandwiches, fresh coffee, and giant homemade scones in the county. Pull up a chair at their outdoor riverside seating area and watch the leisure boats glide through the working lock gates. Torksey Lock Coffee House

🚂 Walk Across the Iconic Torksey Viaduct Bridge

You can’t leave without walking the trails toward the famous Torksey Viaduct. This magnificent, structural marvel of a bridge stretches across the River Trent, linking Lincolnshire with Nottinghamshire. Originally built as a Victorian railway bridge line, it has been beautifully restored into a fully accessible walking route. Walking across the bridge offers breathtaking, panoramic views of the water, the locks, and the sprawling countryside.
Komoot

Whether you are an avid cyclist, a dog walker, or just a foodie searching for your next favourite cafe spot, Torksey delivers that peaceful, idyllic English village charm.

Those of you who are regular's know that we are very keen on our flowers through the summer, and this spring..... Well it's been a struggle! With the cold Spring, everything has been really slow to get going, not helped by some late frosts. (Which bumped off a few of the Begonia plug plants.)

We have some new roses which are fantastic, the early pansy's are still in great shape, the fence top planters are just coming on now, and we should get those out in the week.
