People have been gathering in this building since 1684.
Diamond House started life as a village school, and more than three centuries later it’s still doing what it does best — bringing people together.
Different reason. Different century.
But still plenty of noise, food, stories and people filling the rooms.
3 generations enjoying family time together!
We can't wait to welcome you!

We love this hidden gem & quiet corner of the UK & to be fair, quite a few of our guests barely leave the house…

But if you do fancy exploring, there’s plenty around us.
Country walks, proper Nottinghamshire countryside and days out that work for different generations too.
National Trust - Clumber Park has 3,800 acres of parkland, woodland and lake, with walking, cycling and family activities.
Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre gives you the ancient oaks, walking trails and, of course, Robin Hood country.
Retford, our local market towns with Georgian architecture, museum & King's Park.
Or you can stay put, light the fire, pour something nice and enjoy having everyone under one roof!

When your family lives in 4 different directions, half the battle is finding somewhere everyone can actually get to!
Diamond House is tucked away in a Nottinghamshire village near Retford — a really handy meeting point close to A1 & M1 + direct link to London via train.
Then, once the cars are parked, you can shut the door and have the weekend together.
Which direction would your family be coming from?

As you can imagine, sixteen people can bring a LOT of food.!
When several families are meeting for a weekend, it’s very easy for everyone to arrive with breakfast, milk, drinks and enough food for three days. A quick family WhatsApp before you come can save an awful lot of duplicate shopping 😉
We have a large fridge freezer, pantry, cupboards + several large windowsills!
All supermarket will deliver too.
