You wanted more Dog Socials across the Harper Inns group… we’ve heard you! 🐶🐾

We’re introducing Dog Socials at the The Pilgrim Fathers at Scrooby, this time on Saturdays!

We know some of you have Sunday commitments, from morning football to family plans, so we wanted to give you another option. Plus, you won’t have to wait quite as long for your next dog social! 🙌

And don’t worry, Sunday Dog Socials at the The King William Inn at Scaftworth aren’t going anywhere. In fact, they’re only going to get bigger and better! We’re just giving you another place to meet up, so you can enjoy twice as many 🐕❤️

📅 Starting Saturday 24th October with Golden Retrievers & Labradors
⏰ 10am–11:30am
🐾 £5 per dog, including a pup cup and a donation to our friends at the wonderful Mayflower Animal Sanctuary.

We’ll be serving up delicious breakfast sandwiches, tea and coffee, so forget the Weetabix... it’s a weekend treat, after all! 🥓☕

Every visiting dog, well, their owner, will also receive a 10 paw-cent off voucher to use at the Pilgrim Fathers on a later visit, so you can come back and experience our fabulous pub and full menu 🍽️

The King William Inn at Scaftworth socials have got off to a cracking start, and provided these go well too, we’ll be adding more dates in the new year. If you don’t see your dog’s breed or group yet, don’t panic! Remember to check the dates over on the King William’s page too.

Tag your dog-walking pals and dig out your pooch's favourite collar! 🐾

Four legged mayhem at The King William Inn at Scaftworth this morning 🥹🤩

22/09/2026

🍺 ONE EXCLUSIVE BARREL. WHEN IT’S GONE, IT’S GONE.

The King William is one of only a handful of pubs in the country to have been blessed with an exclusive barrel of Hawkstone Wildthing.

A celebration of the British countryside, Wildthing is made in collaboration with regenerative-farming pioneers Wildfarmed, using barley grown in a way that’s better for the soil, biodiversity and the land.

Wildfarmed was co-founded by Groove Armada’s Andy Cato, who once played with the Doncaster Youth Jazz Orchestra and can, of course, also be heard on the Harper Inns playlist. 🎶

One barrel. One very limited opportunity to try it. Get a pint before it’s gone. 🍻

Yesterday, Harper Inns celebrated the end of summer! ☀️🍻

All our venues closed for the day so our brilliant teams could come together, let their hair down and celebrate everything they’ve achieved this summer.

We started with garden games at the King William, including the fiercely contested venue tug-of-war. After many rounds, the King William came out on top, proving that, on this occasion, it wasn’t brawn that won the day, but brains and a fabulous technique! 🏆

We then headed inside for live music from the wonderful Freya White and Roger and the No Ones, followed by some unforgettable karaoke performances. Keep an eye on our venues’ pages, because some truly fabulous videos may be making an appearance…

Pilgrim Fathers manager Cai and Cheryl, our fabulous King William front of house legend who will soon be joining the Pilgrim Fathers, were undoubtedly the most proficient with the microphone! 🎤

It sounds clichéd, but seeing people from different venues working together, laughing together and hugging each other really does make Harper Inns feel like a family. Admittedly, sometimes a slightly dysfunctional one, but aren’t they all? 😉

It was a fabulous day and evening, and we’re so glad our teams had the opportunity to celebrate together.

All our venues are open as normal from 12pm today, and we hope to see you there. We promise there aren’t too many sore heads… ❤️

Next up, see what we have to this autumn and winter 👀
