On 5 October, the Eastbourne Bonfire Society will be staging its annual colourful procession along the seafront finishing with a giant bonfire and firework display.

Part of the local "bonfire" tradition which has been part of Sussex life for over 400 years, there will also be other regional societies at the procession too.

A walk across Beachy Head and Seven Sisters is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys panoramic sea views.

But, you don't need to get close to the crumbly chalk edge to fully appreciate the experience.

(Basically, don't be the folks in the bottom left)

We couldn't let the day slip by without a mention of Beachy Head Lighthouse, situated in the Marine Conservation Zone, of course.

Yes, the cliffs are picture-perfect and lovely but they're extremely dangerous.

However peerless you think that photo might be, it's not worth this kind of risk.

Stick to the path, avoid the edge and admire from a safe distance. It's that easy.

On Monday 5 August, we're hosting our first ever plastic pollution Youth Action Day at Seven Sisters Country Park.

We only have a few spaces left so be sure to sign-up asap 👉 https://buff.ly/2LO1zBp

50 years ago the world stood still to watch humanity touch down on a new frontier.

Although the challenges of today - climate change, biodiversity loss & habitat deterioration - are huge, the moon landings remind us that they are surmountable.
